Some visual problems have nothing to do with “20/20" sight, but instead involve the ease, comfort and efficiency of the way the two eyes coordinate with each other and guide the rest of the body.

Motion Sickness/Vertigo

The visual system is one of three sensory inputs that contribute to our sense of stability, or feeling comfortable in our surroundings. The dominant system is the inner ear. Unfortunately there are conditions, such as frequent inner ear infections, which produce problems with the ear’s ability to override the visual system. When this occurs, the patient becomes easily dizzy, nauseated or headachy when reading in a car, riding a merry-go-round or even walking down the aisle of a supermarket. This condition often leads to frequent, severe headaches especially when reading or doing computer work.

Fortunately there is therapy, which is effective at eliminating these symptoms.
