Meet Dr. Guiley Dr.
Guiley is a native of Eugene, Oregon. He received his B.S. Degree
from The University of Oregon, and both his Masters Degree in Public
Health Biomedical Laboratory Science and his Doctor of Optometry
Degree from The University of California at Berkeley. He has a special
interest in the nutritional prevention and treatment of eye diseases,
particularly macular degeneration.
Dr. Guiley is a frequent lecturer, including continuing
education classes for other eye doctors on topics such as “The Role
of Lutein in Macular Degeneration”, “When LASIK Goes Badly”, “Review
of Immunology”, “Treatment of Motion Sickness and Vertigo” and “Detection
and Treatment of Eye Coordination Problems”. He now teaches a two-day
course entitled, “Glaucoma; Medical Management and Surgical Co-Management.”
He served as a board member, Bulletin Editor and President-elect
of the Los Angeles County Optometric Society and as the President
of the Central Oregon Optometric Physicians Society. He also served
as Chairman of the Bend Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs
Council and as a member of the Bend Chamber's Board of Directors.
Dr. Guiley is an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at Pacific University
College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. Riverbend Eyecare
has been selected by Pacific University as an externship-training
site for optometry interns in their final year.
